When Sailing and exploring the remote islands of the Northern-most Tongan chain, you might expect to find a similar scene on most islands: small villages, plantations, and friendly Tongans.
That wasn’t the case on one sunken volcano. On the shores of the flooded crater of Hunga, we found a small off grid home, a veggie garden, a few dogs and a very nice Candian man named Barry.
Barry shares a unique & touching story that led him & his wife to this remote, off-grid lifestyle. Previous successful real estate agents in Canada, they gave it all up to put a dream into action. The dream of living a simple, carefree life on a remote island.
